REVIEW FOR THE FIRST SEMESTER EXAMINATION
I. Objectives: 
- To help students remember some tenses they have studied.

- Grammar: Past simple, present simple, future simple, present perfect, present progressive and past progressive tense.

c. Attitude: Ss will be educated about how to study well.

- Self-learning capability. 
- Communicative competence 
- Cooperation capacity 
II. Preparation
1. Teacher: lesson plan, book, color chalks
2. Students: books, notebooks, pen, ruler

1. Past simple tense
* Ss remember the way to use the past simple tense.
*usage: expressing an action happened and finished at a particular time in the past.
 *Adverbs: yesterday, last night / week / month / year , ago.
 *Formation : 
 - S + V-ed/V (past form) .
 - S + didn’t + V (bare inf.) .
 - Did + S + V (bare inf.) ?
Ex:- Lan bought a new hat yesterday.
 - Lan didn’t buy a new hat yesterday.
 - Did Lan buy a new hat yesterday?
- Teacher has students remember the usage, the adverbs and the formation of the present simple tense.
- Students remember and state before the class.
- Teacher checks and corrects.
- Students copy down the usage, the adverbs and the formation of this tense. Then give some examples.
- Teacher corrects if necessary.
2. Simple present tense 
* Ss remember the way to use the present simple tense.
Structure:
+ S + be/ Vo/ s/ es 
- S + be/ do/ does + not + Vo + ..
? Be/ Do/ Does + S + Vo ..?
- Yes, S + be/ do/ does.
- No, S + be/ do/ does + not .
Ex: - Lam goes to school everyday.
- Lam doesn’t go to school on Sunday.
- Does Lam go to school on Sunday?
 No, she doesn’t
- Teacher has students remember the usage, the adverbs and the formation of the future simple tense.
- Students remember and state before the class.
- Teacher checks and corrects.
- Students copy down the usage, the adverbs and the formation of this tense. Then give some examples.
- Teacher corrects if necessary.
3. Future simple tense
* Ss remember the way to use the future simple tense.
*Usage: expressing an action will happen in the future.
*Adverbs: tomorrow, tonight, next week/ month / year / , on the weekend, .
*Formation :
- S + will / shall + V (bare inf.) + .
- S + won’t / shan’t + V (bare inf.) + .
- Will / Shall + S + V (bare inf.) + ?
Ex:- Minh will come here next summer.
 - Minh won’t come here next summer.
 - Will Minh come here next summer?
- Teacher has students remember the usage, the adverbs and the formation of the present perfect tense.
- Students remember and state before the class.
- Teacher checks and corrects.
- Students copy down the usage, the adverbs and the formation of this tense. Then give some examples.
- Teacher corrects if necessary.
4. Present perfect tense
* Ss remember the way to use the present perfect tense.
*Usage: expressing an action that began in the past and continues to the present, or at an unspecified time in the past, or an action has just happened.
*Adverbs: since, for, already, recently, just, ever, never, yet, .
*Formation:
- S + have / has + V-ed / V (past participle) + .
- S + haven’t / hasn’t + V-ed / V (p.p) + .
- Have / Has + S + V-ed / V (p.p) + ?
Ex:-I have already seen that film.
 -Long hasn’t met Loan since 2005.
 -Have you visited HaLong Bay yet?
- Teacher has students remember the usage, the adverbs and the formation of the present progressive tense.
- Students remember and state before the class.
- Teacher checks and corrects.
- Students copy down the usage, the adverbs and the formation of this tense. Then give some examples.
5. The present progressive tense.
* Ss remember the way to use the present progressive tense.
*Usage: expressing an action that is happening at the present.
*Adverbs: now, at the present, at the moment.
*Formation:
- S + is / am /are + V-ing .
- S + is / am / are + not + V-ing .
- Is / Am / Are + S + V-ing ?
Ex: I am cooking dinner now.
 She is not listening to music now.
 Are you doing your homework at the present?
- Teacher has students remember the usage, the adverbs and the formation of the past progressive tense.
- Students remember and state before the class.
- Teacher checks and corrects.
- Students copy down the usage, the adverbs and the formation of this tense. Then give some examples.
6. The past progressive tense.
* Ss remember the way to use the past progressive tense.
*Usage: expressing an action that was happening at the point time in the past.
*Adverb: at 5 o’clock yesterday, .
*Formation:
- S + was / were + V-ing .
- S + was / were + not + V-ing .
- Was / were + S + V-ing ?

3. Consolidation 3’
- Students make more examples using these tenses.
4. Its operations 1’
- Students learn the usages, the adverbs and the formations of these tenses by heart and give as many examples as possible.
