Do you like COOKING? - Ask whole class: WHAT DO YOU LIKE DOING in your freetime? Lead in: Now class, I want you to pay attention to the Ving after the verb like, it has a name. Its name is GERUND. Gerund is a kind of verb added ing to express the action that go after some sensational verbs such as like, dislike, love ect. - T Asks ss another question. “there are things you like doing; how about things that you are unhappy to do. What don’t you like doing?” - ss answer I don’t like - T ask ss for another verbs to express the phrase “don’t like” Wait a minute and make sure the ss finish copying down the lesson. How to add ING into a verb See +ing = seeing Go + ing = going Eat + ing =eating Look+ ing =looking Say + ing =saying Buy + ing = buying Paly + ing = playing e + ing = e ing Ex: make + ing = making ee + ing = eeing Ex: see +ing = seeing ie + ing = ying Ex: lie + ing + lying a/e/i/o/u/ letter+ing = letter doulbe(x2) ing Ex: shop + ing = shopping But, most words just add ing easily. Activity 4 7’ (Powerpoint Google meets) - exercise 4 on page 46 So far, we have talked about us. Let’s move one to share with the whole class about your family members. We write thing he or she likes doing or doesn’t like doing. - example: textbook, p.46 My father likes watching sports, but my mother doesn’t. She likes listening to music. - T explains the example carefully. - Ss look at the example, use the cue or suggested words and make their own sentences. Our family member Model: This is my family. In my family, my grandpa likes reading articles, but my grandma doesn’t. She enjoys watching Tv. Activity 5 (Homework) 3’ (Powerpoint Handouts) - prepare “tag question” lesson language focus page 45. - guide the students how and what to prepare at home. Finish the handout as homework.
