Warm-up * Aim: -To activate students’ knowledge on the topic of the unit. * Content: Write on the BB, and read the words aloud. * Products: - Students write names some famous celebrations in VietNam. * Organization of implementation Teacher’s and Ss’ activities Content *Warm up: Team work T -Ss - Teacher divides class into 2 teams and asks students to answer some famous celebrations in VietNam. - Students answer. Warm up: * Network: famous celebrations in VietNam 2. Pre-reading * Aim: To prepare students with vocabulary related to the topic weather. * Content: learn some vocabularies related to the topic. * Products: Students read and understand the meaning of vocab. * Organization of implementation Teacher’s and Ss’ activities Content Pre teach vocabulary - T-Ss - Teacher use different techniques to teach vocab (pictures, situation,) - Follow the seven steps of teaching vocabulary - Repeat in chorus and individually - Copy all the words * Checking vocab. - Ss predict.* Vocabulary - hug (n): sự ôm chặt. - considerate (adj): chu đáo. - generous (adj): rộng lượng. - priority (n): sự ưu tiên, quyền ưu tiên. - sense of humor: khiếu hài hước - terrific (adj): tuyệt vời. * Set the scene: There are many occasions or you to express your feelings to others. You are going to read the three paragraphs of opinions, feelings and memories of children about their father on Father's Day in Australia and the USA. 3. While –reading * Aims: To set the context for the introductory; To introduce the topic of the unit, the vocabulary, the sounds, and the grammar points to be learnt. * Content: Read and answer some questions. * Products: Students read and understand the meaning of the text. Students know how to role play * Organization of implementation: Teacher’s and Ss’ activities Content * Set the scenes: T-Ss Checking the predictions: generous. considerate, humorous, great,the best, terrific. Answer the questions. Answer key: a) To her dad. b) He is possibly dead. These ideas maytell about that: "....how much you aremissed............, .......... I now havechildren, Dad...." c) His sense of humor. d) A father as a teacher, a caretaker, afriend, ....................... - Students read for the first time and check their predictions. - Students read for the second time and then answer the comprehension questions - Tell me some famous celebrations in VietNam? 4. Post-reading * Aim: To consolidate what students have learnt in the lesson. * Content: Vocab about school things and Read and understand content of the conversation * Products: Say aloud some words they remember from the lesson. * Organization of implementation Teacher’s and Ss’ activities Content SS discuss in group of four. T check. - Students write their feelings, opinionsand memories about their fathers. 5. Consolidation. - Retell the main content of the lesson. 6. Homework - Learn by heart all the new words. - Do exercises in the workbook.
