PROCEDURES: T’s and Ss’ activities Contents - T divides the class into 4 groups. - T prepares 4 posters with the topic: TV programs. - T asks Ss to discuss in group and list the names of TV programs. - Ss listen to the teacher and then discuss in group and list the names of TV programs - The group has more correct answers will be the winner. New lesson Activity 1: Warm up (5’) Brainstorming TV programs music - T uses the pictures, examples,...to teach new words. - T writes new words on the board and asks Ss to look at the pictures or examples to guess the Vietnamese meaning. - Ss look at the pictures or examples to guess the Vietnamese meaning. - T reads each word 3 times, asks Ss to listen and repeat. - Ss listen and repeat. - T calls some Ss to repeat. - T sets the sense: You are going to listen to the dialogue between Nga and Ba. - T asks Ss to close the book and then listen the dialogue between Ba and Nga to tick True or False. - Ss close the book and listen the dialogue between Ba and Nga to tick True or False. - T plays the tape for Ss to listen. - T asks Ss to open the book to check the answer. - Ss open the book and check the answer. Activity 2: Presentation (15’) 1. F => Nga doesn’t really like watching sports. - T asks Ss to read the dialogue again. - T asks Ss to work in pair to answer the questions. - Ss discuss with the partner to read the dialogue and answer the questions. - T calls Ss on standing before the class and answer. - Ss stand before the class and answer. - T listens and comments. - T gives examples to lead in the new grammar. - T explains the form, usage, for Ss to understand. - Ss listen and take notes carefully. - T asks Ss to review the grammar to the exercise. - T writes the exercise on the board and asks Ss to work in pair to do. - Ss discuss with the partner and then do the exercise. - T runs around the class to help Ss if necessary. - Ss go to the board and write the answer. - T checks and comments. Activity 3: Practice (15’) 3. Read the dialogue between Ba and Nga. Then answer the questions. Keys: a. No, there aren’t any good programs for teenagers. b. He likes to watch sport show, cartoon and movie. c. She likes to watch programs about teenagers and other countries. d. Because they don’t play the kind of music she likes. e. She’s going to listen to the radio and may be read a book. Model sentences: 1. What kinds of programs does Nga like? => Nga likes to watch programs about teenagers in other countries 2. Does Nga like watching sports? => No, she doesn’t. She prefers taking part in them. 3. Nga prefers taking part in sports to watching them * Forms: like + to-V :thích làm gì (vào một thời điểm cụ thể nào đó) like + V-ing :thích làm gì (thành thói quen hay sở thích ) Prefer+ V-ing Thích làm gì hơn( Thói quen hay sở thích) Prefer (doing) something to (doing) something: Thích làm điều gì hơn làm điều gì đó *Exercise: Rewrite these sentences with “ like + V-ing” or “ prefer + V-ing to + V-ing” Ex: I/ prefer/ watch TV/ listen to music. => I prefer watching TV to listening to music. Activity 3: Production (5’) Make a dialogue and practice with the partner. Ex: A: What kinds of programs do you like? B: I like programs about movie stars. A: Do you like sports shows? B: Yes, I really enjoy it.
