Warm-up * Aim: Have students start up before study the new lesson. * Content: Write on the BB, and read the words aloud. * Products: Students write the name of activities. They’ve just seen from memory. * Organization of implementation Teacher’s and Ss’ activities Content *Warm up: Guessing game T -Ss - Teacher divides class into 2 teams and asks students guess. - Students guess. *Warm up: Guessing game a/ first b/ ------------ c/ ------------- d/ finally. (next) (then) - When do we use these words? 2. Pre-writing * Aim: To prepare students to write a set of instruction on how to recycle used things. * Content: introduce vocabulary and ordering prediction. * Products: Students understand the meaning of speech. * Organization of implementation Teacher’s and Ss’ activities Content 1/Vocabulary: - T use technique to introduce vocabulary. - T remember vocabulary, take note. - T checking vocabulary. *Checking vocabulary: Slap the board. 2/ Ordering prediction: - T tell Ss they are going to read a text about how to recycle used paper. - Put the verbs on the board randomly in a flow chart. - Ask Ss to work in groups to guess the order of the actions. - T call out two pairs to write their answers on the board . - Explain the process of recycling, using mimes of Vietnamese and correct. 1/Vocabulary: - bucket (n): thùng, xô - tray (n): khay - pot (n): lọ, hủ, bình - (to) soak: nhúng, ngâm nước - (to) mash: bóp nát - (to) scatter: tung, rải 2/ Ordering prediction: soak dry pull out mix press mash 1. soak 2. mash 3. mix 4. pull out 5. press 6. dry 3. While –writing * Aims: -To set the context for writing. - Students know how to write a set of instruction to recycle used things. * Content: Students read the text then fill in the blanks using the verbs in the box. * Products: - Students write a set of instruction on how to recycle used things. - Students know how to role play. * Organization of implementation: Teacher’s and Ss’ activities Content * Gap fill: - Ask ss to look at the book on p. 93-94. - Read the text then fill in the blanks using the verbs in the box. - Work individually. - Ask them to compare with their friends. * Gap fill: 1. use 2. mix 3. place 4. press 5. wrap 6. wait 7. dry 4. Post-writing * Aim: To consolidate what students have learnt in the lesson. * Content: Understand how to a set of instruction on how to recycle used things. * Products: Remember the lesson. * Organization of implementation Teacher’s and Ss’ activities Content * Ordering picture: - T gives Ss a question and asks them to discuss: How to prepare the tea leaves? - Stick the photocopied pictures on the board randomly. - T asks Ss to look at them and run through all the cue words in the box. - T gets Ss work in groups to rearrange the pictures according to the instructions on how to prepare the tea leaves. - T calls Ss to rearrange the picture. - T asks Ss look at each picture to write the instruction using the words given - Model: First, take the used tea leaves from the tea pot. - T asks Ss to read out the instruction. - T checks and correct. * Answer key: First, take the used tea leaves from the tea pot. Next, scatter the tea leaves on a tray. Then dry the leaves in the sun. Finally, put the dry leaves in a pot for future use. 5. Consolidation. - Retell the main content of the lesson. 6. Homework - Finish writing in notebook. - Prepare for Language focus.
