Although there are many celebrations throughout the year, Tet or the Lunar New Year holiday is the most important celebration for Vietnamese people. Tet is a festival which occurs in late January or early February. It is a time for families to clean and decorate their homes , and enjoy special food such as sticky rice cakes. Chiều ngày 14 tháng Ni-xan (khoảng tháng ba, tháng tư dương lịch ), người ta sát tế chiên ( cừu ) tại đền thờ , rồi lấy máu chiên đổ dưới chân bàn thờ. Khi đêm xuống, người ta sẽ ăn tiệc chiên theo gia đình hay theo nhóm mà không quên lấy chút máu chiên bôi lên cửa nhà. Lễ Vượt Qua được cử hành như một cuộc tưởng niệm nhằm giúp mỗi người sống lại kinh nghiệm của cha ông họ được giải phóng khỏi ách nô lệ Ai Cập xưa kia.
